He is the second of six children (James, Lavelle, Eric, Terrell and Angel). Later on, Barbara Anderson and the late Lonnie Earl Anderson, Sr. of Modesto, California, later adopted Pastor Lane. He then became the youngest of six children (Kim, Klifton, Sharon, Karl, and Lonnie, Jr.). Pastor Lane accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior at the Christian Love Baptist Church of Modesto, California under the pastorate of Rev. James M. Anderson.

After graduating from Modesto High School in 1989, he moved to Turlock, California to attend Stanislaus State University. In 1992, he moved to Alabama to attend Selma University and joined the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Selma, Alabama under the pastorate of Dr. F. D. Reese. Pastor Lane surrendered to the call of God on Sunday, March 20, 1994. He preached his first sermon, "The Search Is Over" at the Ebenezer Baptist Church. He was licensed to preach the gospel that same day. In 1996, Pastor Lane moved to Birmingham and attended Miles College. He united with the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Dr. Quinton E. Hammonds. On January 11th, Pastor Lane was ordained and appointed to a staff position.

On March 16, 2003, Pastor Lane accepted the letter to call from St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church, Corpus Christi, Texas. He preached his first sermon as pastor on Women's Annual Day, May 4, 2003, during both the morning and 3:00 p.m. worship services.

Pastor Lane immediately took hold of the leadership reins as Pastor of St. Matthew. With God's help he has implemented new programs and updated existing programs, such as New Member's Class on Sunday mornings, Minister's Bible Study on Monday evenings, 12 Noon and 7:00 p.m. Bible Study on Wednesday, Sunday School Teacher's Class on Thursday evening and Youth Starlight Band Bible Study on Saturday.

The theme he has chosen for the church is "A Church Preparing People For A Coming Christ," taken from Acts 1:8-11. The membership is growing spiritually and members are being added to our church family, along with members re-dedicating their lives to Christ. Two "sons" of the church have already announced their call to the ministry under his leadership and guidance. To God be the glory for the good things he has done.
